Blog: Pittsburgh Double Date Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden

I have been wanting to go to Pittsburgh to try a lot of things for a while now, so when Arianna asked if I wanted to go with her and her boyfriend to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden, I was super excited and told her about my list of things I'd been wanting to do (which all happen to be things she thought would be fun too). I'm also so excited that we can play together again!

I really love Pittsburgh. Like, if I were planning to live somewhere in America, out of all the cities I've seen here so far, Pittsburgh might be my favorite. Then again, I might be a bit biased because it's so close by that I've had many chances to see what it has to offer (but they're totally opening a cat cafe there soon! (link to info on what/when/how).

Anyway, after a Sheetz breakfast, first we went to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden early in the morning right after it opened.

They had a few of these really cool water-powered sculptures. I took some videos, and I might try to make them into something nice to share with you later...

Then there was a butterfly garden!! I was hoping there would be butterflies. Also the girl working that area was really sweet and complemented just how well dressed, put together, and cute our group was <3

There was one dead one though =( I asked her what they do with the dead ones, and they don't use them for anything. I wish I could have kept it for some kind of project

She even let me get up close and personal with a few butterflies as she let them out of their little chamber where they change from caterpillars. I was able to get some up close photos of some that just changed with their wings not even ready to fly yet

This little guy wasn't supposed to be flying yet, but he flew onto her shirt anyway!

She told us that the white spots on the bottoms of the wings means it's a male

This type of butterfly was always fluttering around in small groups, and apparently they all sleep in little groups too!

This one was actually just out in the wild, but it posed for me anyway

Then there was an orchid garden! Here are a few of my favorite ones

Sweet, but not really...

and a Japanese garden

And then a few other cool/pretty plants I liked and wanna include here!

Chocolate blossoms

Obviously I couldn't show you everything there, just some of my favorites, so you have to come see it yourself to see the rest! =D

This was actually from like 3 weeks ago, but school has been keeping me so busy! I've been doing so many fun things that I need to blog about, and this is probably one of my only completely free days because of the 3 day weekend, so I'll try to get as much done as possible!
